Eun-Sun Lee began her violin studies in Seoul, Korea, and continued in Los Angeles, California, where she received first prize in the American String Teachers Association Competition. She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from The Juilliard School in New York City, where she was a scholarship pupil of Dorothy Delay. In 1994, she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California as a teaching assistant to Eudice Shapiro. Dr. Lee s solo and chamber music recitals throughout the United States include performances in New York City for the Beethoven Society, the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Hall, Kaufman Concert Hall at the 92ne Street Y, Lincoln Center, the Centennial Celebration Series of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and at the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. She has been invited as faculty and soloist at the Hidden Valley Seminars in Carmel, California, and was the Assistant Faculty and Assistant Concertmaster at the Waterloo Music Festival in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In the summer of 1997, Dr. Lee was a faculty member and concertmaster of the International Workshops Orchestra and the Eduard Melkus Ensemble at the 26th Annual American String Teachers Association International Workshop in Stavanger, Norway and at the South Carolina Governor s School for the Arts. Dr. Lee is on the South Carolina Arts Commission Community Tour and Approved Artist Roster, and has released a CD with her violin/piano duo partner, Fabio Parrini. Among other venues, the duo has performed at the Korean Cultural Service in New York City, Pepperdine University (CA), and Point Loma Nazarene University (CA), where Dr. Lee also conducted a master class. Dr. Lee is recognized in 2004 and 2005 Who s Who among America s Teachers and has received many awards, including the Individual Artist Grants from The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Arts Commission. In 2004, she was selected as one of the founding artist members on SouthernArtistry.org. Born in Italy, Fabio Parrini graduated from the Conservatory of Padua and won first prize at the national competitions of Galatina, Osimo, and Cagliari. The Fulbright Program brought him to Boston University, where he earned a Master of Music Degree and an Artist Diploma, won the Anne and Aaron Richmond Competition, and received the Kahn Career Entry Award. After winning more prizes ("Ennio Porrino" International Competition, "Premio Citta' di Treviso"), Mr. Parrini gave recitals in Milan, Turin, Johannesburg, Boston, and San Diego, became a U.S. resident, and was selected for the South Carolina Arts Commission's Community Tour, Showcase, and Approved Artist Roster. He has recently been included in the Steinway Artist Roster as well
Mr. Parrini has recorded solo programs for the Italian National Radio (RAI) in Rome, the German Swiss Radio (DRS) in Zurich, and other radio and TV stations in Italy and in the U.S. His CD releases (supported in part by grants from the Metropolitan Arts Council of Greenville, the Arts Partnership of Spartanburg, the SC Arts Commission, and North Greenville University) include solo repertoire and collaborations with violinist Eun-Sun Lee. He has concertized across Italy and the U.S., performing as soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Orchestra da Camera di Belluno, the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Padova, the Heritage Chamber Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony Chamber Orchestra, the Carolina Youth Symphony, the Hendersonville Symphony and the Clemson University Symphony. As a chamber musician, vocal accompanist, and orchestral pianist, Mr. Parrini has collaborated with many internationally recognized conductors and soloists and has performed for the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Hampden-Sydney Chamber Music Festival, Opera New England, the Greenville Symphony, and the Honors Program of the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.
Mr. Parrini is Professor of Music and Piano Coordinator at North Greenville University, in South Carolina. He has taught master classes for the NGU Piano Seminar, the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, Clemson University, the Longy School of Music, and Emporia State University (KS), and has been guest artist/teacher at the Point Loma Nazarene University Piano Institute in San Diego for several years. His teachers are Anthony di Bonaventura, Micaela Mingardo, Gyorgy Sandor, Bruno Mezzena, and Adriana Rognoni.
