Edito de A Sucker for Your Sound (Remixed by Sawdust of Oak)Sheffield?s I MONSTER make their long awaited return with the release of a new single on the Twins Of Evil label in January 2009.
'A Sucker For Your Sound', released on seven inch vinyl and available to download, is the first taste of what to expect from their new album which is set for release in February 2009.
The new single, their first release since 2004?s ?Neveroddoreven? album, sees the I MONSTER duo of Dean Honer and Jarrod Gosling enlist the vocal talents of Philly, the ill wind of Michael Somerset Ward and the pounding drum cakes of Ross Orton. 'A Sucker For Your Sound' comes backed with the exclusive ?No Nice Strippers? and features additional mixes by Bromheads Jacket , Toddla T & Ross Orton and the band themselves.
The pair have been far from quiet over the last few years. In between journeying to the centre of the earth, vampire hunting and building kitchen extensions, they?ve co-written and produced tracks on both Finnish artist HK119's and Roisin Murphy?s new albums, spent some time in the studio with queen of pop Cathy Dennis and worked on rapper Lupe Fiasco's Grammy winning 'Daydreamin'' single, the track based entirely on their big hit 'Daydream In Blue'.
Their music has appeared in numerous TV shows - CSE Miami, One Tree Hill, Yo Gabba Gabba and Canterbury's Law, while their 'Blue Wrath' track was the main title theme of the Shaun Of The Dead movie and ?Heaven? is used in French big budget feature film Les Chevaliers du Ciel.
I MONSTER have yet to announce any live dates, but prior to the release of the album, the band are curating a new compilation of 1970s progressive rock from France and the Netherlands. Suffice to say that such a labour of love takes time to come to fruition and are hoping to have this released as part of an ongoing series later in the year, once the Eastern Bloc set is ready to complete the mighty trilogy....
