With his loaded lyrics inspired by his life experiences, and his blazing tracks this phenomenal talent cannot be denied. He has no desire, however to be the controlled by the powers that be in the music industry. No, Kevlar is doing things on his own terms. He writes his lyrics, produces his own beats, and has his own vision of where he wants his music to go. This multi talented rap artist is destined for fame. At the age of ten when most other children his age were asking for the latest toy on the market, Kevlar was asking for a walkman that had a recording feature. When his wish was granted, there began the passion that led him to be the talent he is today. Kevlar sat with his walkman religiously recording himself reciting lyrics from some of his favorite artists. Through his devotion to his craft he soon discovered his own style. In 1998, Kevlar met a friend by the name of Avatar. Kevlar discovered through their friendship that Avatar also had rhyming ability. Kevlar and Avatar began to rhyme together, each possessing their own unique style. Through Avatar, Kevlar met yet another friend Animosity, who also possessed rhyming ability. Each of them with their artistic ability created the right components to create a rap group. The group formerly known as, The Black Casba. The group was picked up by an independent label, but was short lived due creative differences. Though the group did not last that long, Kevlar says that the lessons leaned both personally and professionally has been very instrumental in the honing of his skills. Kevlar was asked to remain on the label that his former group was signed to. The label asked him to produce a single. In a few months the project was completed. Kevlar then took to the streets to get his product sold. With Kevlar's personal effort and the help of the internet Kevlar's single sold one thousand copies in the first hour. Kevlar left the label with a world of experience, and ten thousand supporters. Convinced that he can do anything he puts his mind to Kevlar took some time out to perfect his craft, and break some new ground. In his time out Kevlar focused on his writing and learned how to produce beats. He also worked on a business plan to produce his own album Currently, Kevlar is working on the finishing touches of his sixteen track album, Sky High. The album is set to be released on Friday, July 4, 2003. Kevlar gave birth to this project, and has ended up with a mind blowing product! Kevlar is proving that with consistency, devotion and hard work anything can be done. He is young, extremely talented and incredibly ambitious, and he is on the rise to becoming the next super star. He is focused, and as he would put it "121". "121" is the building number of where Kevlar grew up. The building is located in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. Kevlar says that 121 was more than just a building number, 121 is a crew with the philosophy of moving from worst to best, and rising from the bottom to the top. Kevlar is determined to do just that.
