This is the 2004 debut, independently produced cd from Toronto's own Karen Manion Jazz.
Last year, Karen Manion Jazz made a major impact on the Toronto scene with her second, independent cd entitled Live at the Montreal Bistro .
Here's what the critics had to say about both releases...
And to think that because of some silly heart condition of mine I ve recently acquired, I might have missed reviewing the towering talents of our northern neighbor - Canada s own jazz chanteuse Karen Manion. A true master of our beloved American Songbook, Karen brings individuality to the pop-jazz vocal style, polishing her phrasing to perfection, while at the same time delivering a vocal knockout punch to us her listeners! Karen & her fine quintet are worth searching out for their challenging song choices, ingenious musical interplay, and last, the highest standard of performance."

"The group kicks and jazz singer Karen delivers her vocalise with a panache that is subtle, creative, defined, rich, imaginative & crafty. All blended nicely within a luxuriant palette of musical taste. Great stuff Karen Manion Jazz! .

This Toronto jazz singer has just released her 9 track debut CD entitled, "Yours in Song" - all beautifully performed by Karen. Atlantic Seabreeze gives this fine CD a 5+ rating out of 5 stars! Karen's velvet voice will certainly give jazz music lovers something new in their collection and after hearing her music, they will want to attend one of her extraordinary concerts.

Manion is both innocent and sexy, cool and sultry. A very promising debut and it'll be interesting to see where Karen goes from here."
Martin Levin, Canada's National Newspaper for Professional Women www.womanspost.ca
