They moved to Sydney and became Krill - a small fish in a big sea. THE JUNK Kim Jackson - keys/synth Roy Jackson - guitars Jan Jackson - vox/guitars Lee Jackson - bass Lea Jackson - drums THE MUSIC Whilst krill meld the sounds of indie-pop with guitar rock, it is clear that krill have more than a passing fascination with the sounds of the synth-pop pioneers of the early 80s. Names such as Devo, XTC, Garbage and The Hummingbirds have been thrown around. You'll find layers of guitars and keyboards, propelled along by choppy robotic beats - channeling the spirit of the long forgotten drum machine. However, growing up on a 90s riff based diet of Nirvana, Foo Fighters and RHCP, krill have some obvious musical schizophrenia. Buzzing riffs, quirky electro-pop and skankin disco sounds combine with powerful riffs, raw energy and wry lyrics to produce the trademark krill sound. Lire la suite
