Edito de The Implanted KingdomThe main theme of the album is genetic modification. The word 'kingdom' is used in reference to taxonomy i.e. the plant, animal, fungi kingdoms. The word itself implies structure and hierarchy. The word ?Implant? conjures up images of body modifications of various sorts. These processes of modification can be carried out on as small of a scale as a strand of DNA. The issue of genetically modifying organisms for our benefit directly correlates with our view of the world. We have implanted the kingdom to modify it for our benefit. Likewise, we have had the notion of the kingdom, of the taxonomic hierarchy of organisms itself, implanted into our own thinking. Lire la suite
