Edito de Slow FadeFor 'Slow Fade' we decided on minimal arrangements with the accent on live performance, rather than orchestration. This suited both the intimacy of the songs and the size of the budget. Recording was split between Steve and Marcus's own studios, and 'Jacobs', a residential haven near Farnham. Steve Davis and I did our usual guitar thing. More space, less keyboards, using BJ Cole's pedal steel for atmosphere. Marcus added to the organic stew with his upright bass, Trevor Smith punctuated the space with his thoughtful drumming, and Lyndon J Connah completed the line-up with his prodding piano.
