Edito de Slightly South of SceneLeaving Araby draws from a broad spectrum of influences including Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, U2, Blindside, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Switchfoot, and many more. They are passionate about creating music that has no boundaries. ?Nothing is off limits and that's the way we like it? according to McIlvenna and Reynolds. The group was formed in October 2005, out of the ashes of two veteran bands when Chad Mcilvenna and Justin Reynolds decided to get together and work on a song together. With the help of drummer Zack Neal they got together to write their first song now known as "Armistice is a Dirty Word". Soon after this, the three of them decided that the material worked well enough to go forward with more writing and to officially form the band. Soon entering the picture to complete the line-up was bass player Derek Amos. From there L.A. set out to write and record their debut EP ?Slightly South of Scene?. With the songs ready to be recorded the band decided they would trust the recording and production of their first release to veteran studio owner of The Odyssey Studio, Patrick Rives.
