Is something out of the ordinary about to happen? On this day it did . . . John Drama emerged from the ashes like a phoenix rising. John Drama was born as John Ealy in 1981. John was born with a microphone in his hand, so to speak. At the earlyage of 9 he began writing lyrics like his many idols in the industry. He derived the first part of his name from his father, John Paine and the second part from all the drama he endured. The drama began at 13, when heleft home; shot at age 14; two kids at age 15; and shot again at age 21.Throughout his battles, he still remained true to his craft - writing his own lyrics. John has almost 10 years of recording and six years performing. He has performed at small venues and open mic nights in cities and suburbs of Chicago, Toledo, Detroit, Lansing, Flint and Pontiac. During a contest at a local Detroit club, John showcased his talent. He knew that you have only one chance to make an impact on the audience. Little did he know that he would walk away with more than first place. A gentleman approached him from the audience, which just so happen to be a representative from 5th Ave Records. The gentleman approached John andasked ?how can he get be reached because he was impressed by his performance.? He was called to audition for the CEO, Greg Branch, he also liked what he heard - flow, style and originality. Mr. Branch recruited John to become a member of the 5th Ave Records family. A few weeks later, John was in the studio re-recording a CD with 21 tracks, that particular CD sold 500 copies that he pulled off the shelves. John stated the reason he wanted to recreate this album, ?it didn?t tell the whole story?. Therefore, he recorded his newly released CD ?Oxymoron- The Untold Story? This CD has an interesting mixture - 13 music tracks and 7 skits with interview material. When asked where did he get the name, he stated ?I needed something catchy and out of the ordinary. According to Webster, oxymoron is a figure of speech that uses seemingly contradiction as ?cruel kindness?. The untold story is every life experience that I have had.? This CD goes back to the roots of hip-hop when a rapper rapped about life, love and hardship. John Drama is an artist with the writing skills of Tupac, the ambition and drive of Eminemem and the performance energy of Lil?John and the Ying-Yang Twins.
