Edito de Midnight SymphonyIf darker, soothing rock music is your thing, you'll love Midnight Symphony. If not, someone you know does so steer them our way.
We combine simple rhythm guitars with keyboards and layered vocals to form mostly mellow and melodic songs, but we occasionally do add some weight now and then, for you fans of the heavier stuff.
Rochambeaux began in 1996 when long time friends Paul Schneider (Vocals, Guitars) and Wayne Boyd (Guitars, Keyboards, Drums) began recording songs on their own after years of writing and playing songs in garage style bands. One day Paul, who prior to this stuck strictly to singing, picked up a guitar and penned the first Rochambeaux song ever, Front Porch. Wayne quickly added some keyboards and a simple drum track to complete the song. The smooth, mellow, dark and gloomy sound they created was so different than the music the two had participated in earlier . Right away, they knew they had found something completely new to them, and Rochambeaux was born.
Wayne later taught himself to play the guitar to assist Paul in the songwriting duties. Wayne, a drummer by trade, also played the piano and keyboards. Soon the two began writing more complex songs and experimented with different vocal and guitar effects trying to find that right sound to define their project. Paul and Wayne then recorded these songs using an analog Yamaha 4 track and later an 8 track over the next several years.
Careers and families came calling and most of the songwriting and recording stopped after 2003. Rochambeaux?s works were shelved on roughly mixed CDRs in Wayne?s house. Only a select few close friends and family members ever heard the songs.
Then in 2006 Wayne started a home project/recording studio, Homebrew Music Studio, and decided to re-master the best of the Rochambeaux songs and officially release them on Midnight Symphony, the studio?s first true project. Despite being completely recorded and mixed on 8 or less tracks, without modern digital tricks and fancy studio editing, Midnight Symphony has an original and genuine musical quality full of dynamics and emotion, often lost in modern recordings.
The fifteen tracks included in Midnight Symphony truly offer something for every musical taste. The album includes slow, soothing, melodic songs such as Front Porch, The Lonely One and Cold, heavier tunes like Scarlet Dawn and The Fulcrum, dark brooding anthems like Ease, and psychedelic jams including Cornerstone. Anchored by Paul?s layered vocals and unique melodies, and driven by the dark and soothing combination of guitars and keyboards, Rochambeaux?s Midnight Symphony is an interesting collection of songs perfect for the rock fan looking for a relaxing late night fix. Enjoy.
