Edito de In The Background Of The WorldCreating their own style of jazz infused alternative folk-rock, Fisher Street is a combination of well-polished artists, who are hungry to make their mark on the jam band fans in the world. Based out of Salisbury, North Carolina they have done a good bit of traveling including Virginia, where they performed at an intimate restaurant called Bangkok Blues. Captivating the entire crowd of first time listeners at this venue, they began to build confidence. This trip brought the band together and when they returned to Salisbury, they were hungry to pounce on any opportunity that lay ahead of them. Wasting no time they quickly began to build a solid fan base at the local colleges. Receiving requests to play at the legendary Jammin Java in Washington, D.C they have showed that they are not just a local success.The band is composed of five musicians. Justin Dionne is the vocalist and guitarist, along with his role as a theater major at Catawba College. Writing and playing in bands early on in his life, he has made a name for himself locally by playing numerous shows and writing creative and compelling music and is an enthusiastic frontman. Eric Finland, is a co-writer and keyboard/organ player in the band. Playing classical for 15 years and jazz for five, his Ben Folds-infused piano style compliments the soothing vocals of the Jason Mraz inspired Justin Dionne. The drummer, Jennie Brooks, has been playing since she was a young girl, adding spices of samba infused rock. She is truly at home behind the drums but she has a few surprises up her sleeve, definitely a key member of the band. The bassist , Dan Hazard, is the definition of groove and has been playing in various bands throughout his career. His songwriting is catchy and his funky bass riffs will surely keep the band together. His ability to hang in the pocket, and become the backbone of the songs is a necessity for any good band.Rounding out the band is Therron Causey, the soulful saxophone player that brings out the flavor of this original sounding band and brings out some of the best qualities in the music. With their attractive looks and dominant stage presence, Fisher Street Band will take you back to the days of Otis Redding soul, and bring it right on back to the present with their rock fusion. The band's first cd, the 5 song EP titled "In the Background of the World" was recorded in late December of 2006. It was recorded at AVA Recording in Salisbury, NC and mastered by Dave Harris, at studio B in Charlotte, NC. Lire la suite
