Edito de FootprintsAlto saxophonist Peter King has been at the forefront of the British jazz scene since the 1950s, when he debuted at Ronnie Scott's in 1959 while still a teenager. With a style firmly rooted in bebop, King's stature as an artist has grown enormously since his days as a juvenile jazz phenomenon.
'Footprints' captures King and his quartet live at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in July and September 2002. The classy line-up give inspired interpretations of classic jazz compositions by Wayne Shorter, Mal Waldron, McCoy Tyner, Victor Feldman and Chick Corea as well as two originals by pianist Steve Melling.
