Edito de FilthUnforgiven were originally founded in the early nineties as a hard hitting rock trio by guitarist Kev Short, drummer Tony Martin and singer/bass player Simon Rumsey. The band pursued their robust interpretation of classic rock 'n' roll mayhem through a series of gigs that culminated in two recording sessions in 1995. After some tough going, during which time they were mucked around by record companies and found venues reluctant to put them on, at the end of 1996 the band members decided to follow other pursuits. With the nu-metal explosion and the punk resurgence through bands such as At the Drive-in at the turn of the century, Unforgiven reformed with bassist Carl Welburn adding to the original line-up leaving Simon free to put all his efforts into developing his unique vocal style. The group are louder, harder and tighter than ever with Welburn's solid pounding bass complementing the highly accomplished, versatile and ever original drive of Martin's drumming, and Kev 'the speedster' Short releasing wave after wave of dynamic riffs. The latest gigs have been extremely well received and have served to show the maturity and progression in the band after their lay-off. The set is based around revised versions of early songs, new material and the odd surprise cover version for good measure. Unforgiven have an album available called 'Filth' which is a collection featuring fourteen self-penned tracks - ten tried and trusted, plus four experimental 'demo' tracks just for this release. Their live shows however, are the best way to experience the full dynamic range and power of Unforgiven in a breathless, aggression-fuelled set that has the power to shock, intimidate and above all rock the house!
