Edito de CorpusThis set of tracks is the second in the series of samples and loops based experimental work of Ranjit Fernandez. Inspired by the human body, each track explores a different part of the anatomy in its own way.
Ranjit Fernandez is originally from the east-coast town of Montrose in Scotland and has lived in Qatar since 2000. He has been playing guitar since he was 14 years old. Since moving to Qatar, and with the encouragement of Anthony Curtis (formerly of BOOM, www.anthonycurtis.net), he started composing and recording his music using a Zoom PRS (personal recording studio) unit. Initially the songs were developed under the Unkle Fezter?s Project title and 3 CDs were produced at home and sold to friends, colleagues and anyone prepared to take a risk. Excellent reviews resulted in a distribution deal in Qatar.
The music has featured on QBS radio and articles have appeared in Qatar Happening magazine, the Gulf Times newspaper and several Scottish newspapers. The first CD, Pearls, is now on sale in all Falcon Retail Outlets in Qatar and digitally via iTunes and Napster.
Most recently, Ranjit has appeared in Guitar Player magazine in the US and also in the www.smoothgroovers.com December 2006 Podcast as their MySpace featured artist.
