When faced with locating electronic information necessary to build a case, you must be confident that you have thoroughly searched and found all information residing on laptops, desktops and servers.
Ontrack® CaptureIt(TM) data cloning software allows you to "copy" devices, such as hard drives, to a network location where the data can be transferred to removable media. CaptureIt software helps you maintain the authenticity of captured data for use in a court of law. After the data is cloned with CaptureIt software, the data can be quickly and efficiently processed through our Electronic Information Management (EIM) services.
CaptureIt software aids your electronic discovery
- Authenticating your electronic discovery data
Other existing imaging software does not verify information on a drive. CaptureIt software ensures that the data has not been tampered with during or after cloning has been completed.
- Providing you with a do-it-yourself solution
Using CaptureIt software for the copying of electronic information (hard drives) helps companies, law firms and litigation support firms meet aggressive discovery deadlines.
- Reducing system downtime
No need to ship your hard drive to us for cloning and processing. CaptureIt software allows you to keep using your system without having to reformat a second hard drive.
- Processing your data faster in Ontrack electronic discovery labs
After the data has been cloned with CaptureIt software, we can process the information faster. Rapid processing of electronic data can help you meet critical discovery deadlines.
- Controlling costs
Clients, who use CaptureIt software, receive a five-percent discount on complete EIM services. This can help you save money on overall litigation costs.
CaptureIt software performs the following
- Creates a byte-by-byte data capture of the hard drive
- Verifies the copying to ensure no data tampering is done during the CaptureIt process
- Runs a test to validate the operability of the hard drive
- Deletes previously created images - cleans up directory structure and files
- Creates a report file with details about the drive such as: make, model, geometry, directory structure, time and date of cloning, consecutive HASH value, verification and imaging statistics
- Re-starts the copying process where it left off, if a data capture is not completed
